Information We Collect

Camera and Photos

• What we collect: When you use SnapMyRecord to identify a vinyl record, you grant the app access to your device's camera to take photos of records.
• How we use it: Photos are processed solely for record identification purposes and are sent to our AI service provider (OpenAI) for analysis.
• Storage: Photos are NOT stored on our servers. They are processed temporarily and discarded after analysis.

Discogs Account Information

• What we collect: When you connect your Discogs account, we access your Discogs username, collection data, and profile information through Discogs' official OAuth authentication.
• How we use it: This information is used to display your collection, add records to your collection, and personalize your experience (such as your preferred currency).
• Storage: Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using encrypted local storage.

Local Data

• What we store locally: Discogs OAuth access tokens, your currency preference, and temporary analysis results.
• How we store it: All local data is stored using secure device storage mechanisms.

Third-Party Services

SnapMyRecord integrates with the following third-party services:

OpenAI

• We send vinyl record images to OpenAI's GPT-4o API for image analysis and record identification.
• OpenAI processes these images according to their Privacy Policy.
• We do not share any personal information with OpenAI beyond the images you choose to analyze.

Discogs

• We use Discogs' OAuth system for authentication and their API for searching records and managing your collection.
• Discogs processes your data according to their Privacy Policy.
• Your Discogs credentials are never stored by SnapMyRecord; we only store OAuth tokens.

Data Sharing

We do NOT:

• Sell your personal information
• Share your data with advertisers
• Create user profiles for marketing purposes
• Store your images on our servers

We DO share data only with:

• OpenAI: Record images for identification (processed and discarded)
• Discogs: Your authentication and collection actions (as per your Discogs account)

Data Retention

• Images: Processed immediately and not retained
• Local tokens: Stored until you log out or uninstall the app
• Preferences: Stored locally until you uninstall the app

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View what data the app has stored locally
• Delete: Remove all local data by logging out or uninstalling the app
• Withdraw consent: Revoke camera permissions at any time through your device settings
• Disconnect Discogs: Log out to remove your Discogs connection

Children's Privacy

SnapMyRecord is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We implement appropriate security measures including:

• Encrypted local storage for authentication tokens
• Secure HTTPS connections for all API communications
• No server-side storage of personal data

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
